Frequently Asked Questions
1) How far is Casa Melissa from San Pancho?
Casa Melissa is about one mile from the center of San Pancho. You can walk into town along the road or, after accessing the beach, walk south along the beach into town.
2) Does Casa Melissa have beach access?
Casa Melissa is oceanfront but does not have direct beach access from the property. The north end of San Pancho’s mile-long beach is about ¼ mile away by road, with wide pedestrian access between two houses. A smaller beach to the north can also be reached about ½ mile from Casa Melissa, just past Bungalows Lydia, by a path down to the beach.
3) Does Casa Melissa have reliable internet?
Yes. Casa Melissa has both Starlink and Telmex fiber-optic internet. We maintain both services so there is a backup connection, and the internet is fast enough for streaming, video calls and working remotely.
4) Is a cook available?
Yes. We can help arrange an independent local cook to prepare meals for you at Casa Melissa. If you’re interested, let us know before your stay and we can help make the arrangements.
5) Where can we buy groceries?
San Pancho has several small grocery stores, while larger supermarkets are available in Bucerías. Our staff can also shop for you before you arrive so the house is stocked when you get there. There is no charge for this service other than the cost of the groceries, with an additional $20 USD charge for a Costco trip.
6) Do you provide airport transportation?
We do not provide airport transportation, but taxis are readily available at the airport. You can also arrange a private pickup or rent a car. We can provide you with some recommendations.
7) Can we drink the water at Casa Melissa?
Yes. Casa Melissa has a whole-house water purification system. We also provide a five-gallon purified-water dispenser for drinking and refilling water bottles.
8) Do we need a car?
A car isn’t essential, but most of our guests choose to rent one. Casa Melissa is only about a mile from the center of San Pancho, but the walk back is uphill and the road can be quite dark at night. During the high season, some guests prefer to rent a golf cart instead of a car for getting around town.
